I’ve been sleeping really badly and had a bit of ‘writers block.’
Anyhow, I got my night time routine back on track and sleeping like a baby again!
Back to my email….
Touching the Void is one of my all time favourite films. It’s a must see.
Every time I put it on, my wife roles her eyes back and tuts.
I have it on DVD, Blue Ray and on my PC and iphone and ipad. I know..sad!
If you don’t know it, here’s a quick round up.
Its the true story of Simon Yates and Joe Simpson who climbed the unclimbed West Face of Siula Grande.
Joe Simpson broke his leg, which is pretty much a death sentence when mountaineering.
Anyway, Yates and Simpson worked to get themselves down, but Yates lowered Simpson (broken leg man) over an overhang in a severe storm.
Yates, who was being dragged off the mountain to his death by Simpson on the other end of the rope, took the decision the cut the rope.
Simpson fell into a crevasse.
Yates made it back to camp thinking his climbing buddy was dead.
For me its an inspirational film.
Joe Simpson woke in the crevasse.
He couldn’t climb out.
He has two options, sit and die on his own, or carry on further down the crevasse.
One of the key things Joe Simpson said when he is interviewed was,
“You gotta make decisions, even if they’re wrong decisions. If you don’t make decisions, you’re stuffed.”
For me this was a game changer. Not only the way I work but also the way I train and approach most things.
How often do you procrastinate over looking after yourself?
“Ill start Monday”, “Works full on, I will start next month.” I hear it all the time.
New years resolution are the epitome of this. A new years resolution is just another form of procrastination, it’s not changing anything!
The good weather has arrived and summer is well on its way. DO YOU WANT TO GET IN SHAPE?
If you want to get ready for the beach, START NOW. Don’t wait till it’s too late.
If you need to give your health a kick up the backside, START NOW. Don’t wait till “You’re stuffed.”
Make a decision.
I’m off to plan tonights Kettlebell session.
Have a great day.
