Thats what I’ve been telling the kids on the build up to Christmas.
Tidy your room.
Eat your greens.
Wash my truck (I’m a cruel Dad).
But guess what…they’ve been doing it!
Because they want Santa to visit them.
THE RESULT…GOOD BEHAVIOUR.
Eating broccoli (c’mon it is good for you).
But it got me thinking.
What do YOU tell yourself in order to keep yourself in shape (or out of shape).
What do you tell yourself to follow through on what YOU said you would do.
Because we all have these big ideas about the new year.
All admirable and good intentions.
But most people give themselves permission NOT to do it, to give up.
“oh I’ll start next week.”
“Well…you’ve got to live.”
“Works been a nightmare.”
I’ve heard all (and I’ve used some of them myself sometimes)
Just look at the gyms on 2nd January and then 28th February.
A huge drop off.
All telling themselves ‘it’s ok to stop.’
But what if you stopped doing that?
What if you did what you said you where going to do.
Ate better (but still have a couple of cheat nights).
Went to bed a little earlier (just Monday-Thursday).
Didn’t drink every night of the week (or went dry for January.)
Put time by to exercise 3 times per week (or learn how to use kettlebells.)
Because Santa’s not watching (I hate to break it to you.)
But other people are.
Don’t be one of the countless people out there that make a promise then never see it through!
