I hope you had a great bank holiday weekend.
I have an embarrassing secret.
As well as a love for kettlebells…
There you go…I confessed.
I’m as happy digging over my humble plot as I am swinging kettlebells in chelmsford.
I get mocked by the ole boys on the allotment, Fred and Rob.
There I was mounting up my potatoes the other day.
Fred and Rob just chuckling at me.
“Mind you don’t have an accident on that mountain you’re building!”
But they’re old hands.
Loads of experience.
Sometimes a week or two passes.
I head over to tend my crop and my heart sinks.
Weeds, grass and over grown.
Back breaking work to sort it.
Where do I go wrong?
I asked my allotment buddies Fred and Rob…”What’s the secret?”
They replied in a yokel accent, “The more you hoe, the more you grow.”
“Little and often Russell, consistency.”
It dawned on me, thats the same advice I give people who come training
It’s the same reason why people fall off the wagon early on when it comes getting rid of the poundage.
Feel better about themselves.
Losing the weight for the beach.
They put in 100% early on, then nothing.
So every time it feels like you’re starting again.
The secret…good quality training, not relentless hours of cardio.
Little but often.
Training tonight 8pm at Pleshey.
