We recently took a team from KB3 Kettlebell group training to compete in the GSU English Kettlebell Championships 2014 in Manchester in April.
Hywel McArdle, Lee Murray, Darren Wiles, myself, Ray Ladyman and Russell Barnard competed in the Mens Biathlon.
The Mens Biathlon consists of two events, the Jerk and the Snatch.
On each event there is a 10 minute window to get as many repetitions as possible. Score are then calculated on the cumlative weight lifted.
A combination of 3 Gold and 3 Silver Medals in their respective categories.
Sport Kettlebells does differ from some traditional Kettlebell training methods and requires a number of disciplines such as technical ability to perform lifts, endurance, fitness and mental toughness.
The whole team trained hard on the build up to the competition attending regularly scheduled training sessions and extra training on their own time.
See some of the action below.
Well done team Essex Gireviks.
