I’m throwing the towel in…

I was chatting to a client of mine earlier this week.

She felt pretty bad.
I though she was going to tell me she was throwing the towel in.

She’d trained hard.
Did the work.

Got a good result.
Then lost it…why?
Life sometime gets in the way.
Im a father of 3 so I know exactly how it happens.
Priorities change.
“I havn’t been able to train so I can’t be bothered to do anything.”

“Ive eaten out twice this week so I’ll start again on Monday but I’ll eat rubbish for the rest of the week”.
These are things I’ve heard.
Maybe you have said them to yourself.
I have on occassions!

But does it mean you have to throw the towel in?
Overcoming it is easy…..
It’s that small insignificant piece of time you spend or that small thing you do.
What do I mean?
15 minutes walk per day is 39 hours per year.
Do you think that will make a difference?
Of course!
But if I said you had to walk for 39 hours its too much in one go.
Taking the stairs burns 9-12 kcal per minute climbing.
1 minute climb per day thats 3285-4380 kcals per year.
Do you think that will make a difference?
Of course!
But if I said I want you to burn 4380 calories, its too much in one go.

Skipping the 300kcal bag of crisps per day because it’s 109,500 Kcal per year.
Do you think that will make a difference.
Of course!
If I asked you to burn over 100k of kcals you’d end dead or hospitalised.
Don’t worry about the big picture.
It’s too overwhelming.
Start small.
We have a couple of new guys coming training tonight at Pleshey at 8pm.
They’ll be starting small taking it their stride.

Have a good evening.
