Over the weekend my daughter locked horns with Mrs P and I.
Now 11, going on 18!
She’s become a bit wiser and has the family fire in her belly.
She said, “I’ve got a bone to pick with you both.”
Mrs P and I looked a each other not having a clue what she was on about.
“You told me the pic ’n’ mix in the supermarkets was for the staff only.”
Yep, it was the biggest lie we’ve ever told.
We told out daughter from a very young age that the pic ’n’ mix in supermarkets was for staff only as a treat for working hard and something they could have on their breaks.
That way we never got pestered for pic ’n’ mix on the family shop.
It worked a dream for 11 years!
I laughed so much I was actually crying.
Now all I’ve got to deal with is Father Christmas and Unicorns!
The thing about lies, good or bad, if you tell someone a lie for long enough, they’ll believe it.
You see it in marketing all the time.
Health and fitness is no exception.
Miracle programs and pills with amazing results in just 7 days?
If you believe that, you might as well book a ride on a Unicorn towing Santa!
Of course it takes some hard work.
It takes a few changes to your lifestyle.
Not just for 7 days.
But the biggest lie…
Is the one people tell themselves.
We all do it.
But its that perpetual one we keep telling ourselves that does the damage.
Am I active enough?
Do I eat the right foods?
Or do you still believe in fluffy unicorns?
Want some help?
Have a great evening.
